Jajarkot Earthquake Relief Program

On November 3, 2023, at 11:47 p.m., a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Jajarkot District in western Nepal, with its epicenter in Barekot Rural Municipality. A total of 153 casualties were confirmed, and 17,824 households across the two districts were completely destroyed. In response, Minority Focus launched the Earthquake Relief Program to provide emergency relief and support recovery efforts in the affected communities. The program aimed to distribute essential supplies such as food and water and assist residents in Jajarkot Ward 1.

The total number of beneficiaries exceeded 300 individuals and families. A team was organized to manage the relief project. Preliminary information was thoroughly collected, and an implementation plan was developed. The target communities affected by the earthquake were successfully reached, and relief packages were delivered in cooperation with local government authorities, church leaders, and community leaders. The program specifically focused on vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The beneficiary communities expressed deep gratitude for the support and care provided by Minority Focus and its funding partner.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, local government, donors, and partners who
made this relief program possible.
